Miami Florida NightlifeMiami Nightlife – Miami is the party city and from dusk to dawn you can find something to get you going – shows, dance, food, drink the lot. And what a range! You wanna dance – well hip hop, disco, reggae, salsa, flamenco, whatever, it’s all available around the next corner. And add to that the moon over the bay and you have the perfect setting. Same with eating – the variety is endless with American, Italian, Cuban, Spanish, Polynesian restaurants of a very high standard and reasonable prices to whet your appetite. And of course you can eat while you dance, watch theatre, cruise on the Bay, go to the casino, the choice is yours.

You can plan ahead or just let it happen. To check out the Miami Florida Nightlife options take a look at the local papers to find out what’s in on the evening and set off. If you don’t want to plan just head for Ocean Drive at South Beach and look around you.

Mango's Tropical Café
This is the world famous Miami spot and you can eat, drink and watch the night develop. Mango’s puts on a special Rio midnight show – great glitz and fun. Expensive but worth it to do a bit of people watching – not to mention the bar staff dancing on the tables and trying to serve drink over the dance floor. And the reggae music, what a beat, gets the hips shaking. A great venue you really feel you’ve been somewhere so make sure you pay a visit.

Opium
This is the hot, hot venue complete with sushi bar, zen garden and oriental lamps and tip top DJ’s. With an entrance fee plus two bottle minimum per table, this will cost you. But you’ll have the chance to look for celebs and the cool set. Open from Wednesday to Sunday from 10.30 pm it’s a good idea to book a table in advance. Make sure you spend some time in the Opium Garden, take photos and do your posing.

Bongos
This is the nightclub of Gloria and Emilio Estéfan. Friday and Saturday a nightclub par excellence, rest of the week a huge restaurant. Around midnight they shift the tables and hey presto the lights come on, the noise blares and it’s a dance floor. At the weekend, the music is great from techno-pop to rock and latin. Can be very crowded with a fabulous atmosphere but there’s a live Salsa band outside and you can get some air. With Cuban food and nostalgia, your best bet is to arrive early, enjoy a meal and then go for the dancing. Tip – Sunday afternoon hosts a great Salsa set from 3 pm.

Tobacco Road
Set up in 1912, this spot has stood the test of time both with locals and visitors. Just outside Downtown Miami has live bands, marvelous juicy chicken wings and all kinds of drinks 626 S. Miami Ave.

Casino Princessa
Want to try your luck, this is a casino with a difference. A 200 ft yacht with roulette, blackjack, slots and so on. On a 5 hour gambling cruise you can make, or lose a fortune so take care. There are several decks, most of them enclosed. But there is an openair deck and when not winning at roulette or blackjack, you can have a drink while enjoying the fabulous views and breathe in the ocean air. Trips are at 12.30 pm and 7.30 pm and you get lunch or dinner on board. Departure point is in Downtown Miami beside the Bayside Market Place/Bayfront Park. A sightseeing cruise with a difference or is it a casino visit with a difference.

Lincoln Road
Lincoln Road is a nice stroll if you want variety. You’ll come across all kinds of outlets, bars, coffee shops, restaurants, not to mention fortune telling, mime artists, art galleries, theaters,and so on, Lincoln Road has it all. Start just a few blocks west of the ocean and try it at the weekend when the Farmer’s Market is in full swing for honey, nuts, orchids, roses, cookies, etc.
