Miami
Weather - The climate of Miami makes this
a great all the year round vacation destination. Coupled
with the wonderful sandy beaches, Miami is a sun destination
winter and summer. The oceanic almost tropical climate
means that the winters in Miami are warm and sunny
while the summertime is not too hot, cooled as it
is by the ocean breeze. So year round shades and sunscreen
are the order of the day.
Winter is the peak season as the Miami Weather
offers warmth and sun at a time when other states
are enduring low temperatures, rain and snow and in
addition, Miami can boast of up to six hours sunshine
during the winter months. But this is also the more
expensive and crowded time in Miami and hotel accommodation
in particular can be pricey.
After Easter and before October can be the best time
to visit, - accommodation is more reasonable and if
you are near the ocean the heat of the sun will be
cooled by ocean breezes. Summers in Miami
can be very hot and humid. Average temperatures in
August, the hottest month, are between 78° and
87° F (26° and 31° C) and the perception
of these temperatures is heightened by the humidity
from the surrounding water and it can feel even hotter.
There is also increased risk of thunderstorms especially
during the afternoon. From July to October there is
also risk of hurricanes or at least of tropical storms
resulting in heavy intermittant rainfall.
